Post Treatment for Tooth Pain
The treatments for tooth pain vary greatly. They treat the actual cause of your tooth pain. For example

If you have tooth decay, you will have to undergo a filling procedure.

If the tooth decay has reached your pulp, you would have to undergo a RCT procedure.

If you have impacted Wisdom tooth, they need to be extracted.

Your dentist will determine the best treatment option for you after examining you.

Toothache" is pain typically around a tooth, teeth or jaws. In most instances, toothaches are caused by a dental problem, such as a dental cavity, a cracked or fractured tooth, an exposed tooth root, or gum disease.

Sometimes diseases of the jaw joint (temporomandibular joint), or spasms of the muscles used for chewing can cause toothache like symptoms.

The severity of a toothache can range from chronic and mild to sharp and excruciating. It can be a dull ache or intense. The pain may be aggravated by chewing or by thermal foods and liquids which are cold or hot. A thorough oral examination, proper tooth testing and evaluation, along with appropriate dental x-rays, can help determine the cause. What we want to know is whether the toothache is really coming from a tooth or somewhere else

Hello Friends......

Self-Care at Home
1. rinsing with warm salt water
2. using dental floss to remove any food particles
3. taking aspirin or acetaminophen to relieve pain
4. using clove oil to numb the gums;
5. Avoid very cold or hot foods because this may make the pain worse.

Thanks

Professional treatment
Treatment will depend on the underlying cause of the tooth pain.In most cases, dental or jaw pain can be cared for with pain medications and antibiotics. In some cases, the doctor may try an injection around the tooth for pain control. Fillings , pulling teeth, or other procedures may be performed as required.

Initially, there are no symptoms of tooth decay till it has progressed extensively. A white chalky spot may appear on the tooth which indicates dissolution of the outer layer of tooth which is the enamel. The white chalky spot appears in only few cases and not in all.

As the tooth decay progresses, this white chalky spot turns brown due to further decay. The demineralization causes the area to become soft. The decay progresses in to deeper layers. When the decay has progressed in to deeper layers where nerves are present, it causes pain and sensitivity.

Prevention of Tooth Decay
The best way to prevent dental caries is by following a proper oral care routine. This will ensure good oral hygiene which best keeps dental caries at bay.

You don’t have to try anything fancy to maintain a good oral hygiene. Just sticking to the basics of oral hygiene would do such as brushing your teeth two times a day. Flossing your teeth at least once every alternate day. Regular dental check ups by the dentist at least once in three months.
