IT Outsourcing
IT outsourcing, using data centres or data centers, can help ensure business continuity by providing a reliable infrastructure for a company's IT operations, storing data away from a company's premises. Of course, it's crucial that a data centre or data center offers a secure environment which minimizes the chances of a security breach. A data center or data centre therefore must always maintain high standards for assuring the integrity and functionality of its hosted computer environment for IT outsourcing customers.
This refers to the provision of space, bandwidth, and power in a data center or data centre, with the customer providing and managing the computing hardware kept there as part of the IT outsourcing agreement. Data centers or data centres that provide this IT outsourcing service are called colocation data centres or data centers. Another example of outsourcing is virtualisation, which refers to a server providing a virtual infrastructure.

Re: IT Outsourcing
IT outsourcing is the practice of subcontracting responsibility for all or part of an IT function to a third-party service provider that manages the work. Businesses use IT outsourcing for functions ranging from infrastructure to software development, maintenance and support.
IT outsourcing has existed since the earliest days of business computing, beginning in the late 1950s with the service bureau operations of major hardware vendors such as IBM, Burroughs, Univac and Control Data. Outsourcing IT is viewed as a way to reduce costs, improve operational flexibility, increase service levels, reduce management overhead or rapidly deploy new capabilities. Most large organizations only outsource a portion of any given IT function.
