Windows 7 runs better and also looks prettier, in my opinion.
It takes lesser space on your hard drive, the standard tools like mspaint and the good old calculator has also been improved. All this and still is a lot faster and has higher performance than Vista.Moreover, it has Touchscreen and multi-touch input

All this and more, I'm going to install it soon on my home pc.

According to me Windows 7 is much more better than Windows Vista. After using it from past some months, I have decided to use it further. Also yesteday I read abn article regarding Windows 7 in Microsoft website which is pointing towards the mobile broadband features included in Windows 7. Mobile broadband is becoming more and more popular in the World. So they have included a different technology to improve the performance with it in Windows 7. I am currently experiencing that difference while using Vista and Windows 7. Since Internet connection is much stable and network utilization by OS is lesser.

To sum it all up, people are saying windows 7 is what windows vista should of been.

Vista is not a bad these days because service packs have come out to fix most of the major bugs. If you can get windows 7 on sale within the next couple of weeks, i'd get it. If not, vista isn't the worst thing that has ever happened. As far as comparing windows 7 and vista, they are similar. The boot times are the same and features are very similar. Windows 7 is basically an "upgrade" from vista.

Windows 7 is the newest and probably best operating system from microsoft.

Windows XP is very old, came out in 2003, it runs very well and is very stable however doesnt have all the features that vista and 7 have

However, i would not touch windows vista because it is VERY slow, it was optimised for speed and was released in a rush so many people have had software and reliability problems.

Microsoft has since corrected this with Windows 7, thats why this has come out only a few years after the release of vista.

Id definately go for windows 7
