Re: Travel Agents
Travel agents plan, organize, and conduct tours and trips for individuals or groups. The duty of a travel agent is to assist travelers with the travel schedules, available vacation packages, food facilities, guiding them in new places, and assisting in their needs. Travel agencies assess tourist’s needs and help them with the best possible travel arrangements. Also, many major hotels, resorts, cruises use travel agents to promote their travel packages to millions of people every year.
Travel agents give guidance and suggestion on various tourist destinations around the world and make arrangements for transportation, hotel accommodations, car rentals, tours, and recreation. Travel agencies also advice on weather conditions and recreation spots. For foreign trips, travel agents provide information on customs regulations, currency exchange rates, passports, visas, and certificates of vaccination.
Travel agencies also visit hotels, motels, resorts, and restaurants to evaluate their comfort, cleanliness, and the quality of food and service so that based on their experiences, they can recommend on their clients. Sales and marketing skills are very essential for travel agents to promote their services.
Travel agents make presentations, advertise and suggest company-sponsored trips to business managers. Many travel agencies specialize in special trips such as leisure or business. This particularly depends on the size of the agency and experience in the industry. Apart from offering the usual services that a travel operator provides with, online travel agencies give an edge by offering services like online travel blogs, agency discussion boards, review sites and social networks.

Re: Travel Agents
A travel agent represents a retail occupation, that distributes travel associated products and services to clients, on behalf of providers, such as airlines, cruise lines, railways, hire car, hotels, sightseeing tours and package vacations that blend numerous products.
Likewise addressing with everyday holidaymakers, nearly all travel agents feature a independent section dedicated to preparing travelling arrangements for business organisations and a few travel agents specialize in commercial and business travel exclusively. While the description implies, a travel agents primary role is to work as an agent, that embodies, merchandising travel products and services on behalf of a provider.
Therefore, contrary to different retail businesses, they don't hold stock in hand. A package vacation or a ticket is not bought from a provider unless a client calls for that purchase. The vacation or ticket is issued to the travel agent at a discount rate.
The benefit is hence the remainder between the publicized price which the client pays and the discounted price at which is provided to the travel agent. This is acknowledged as the commission. In Australia, travel agents or companies that sell travel related tickets are compelled to be licensed as a travel agent.

Re: Travel Agents
Hi
For one, cruise operators give what are termed "travel industry rates" to legitimate travel agents. If you have a travel agent job and can verify it, you'll get a great discount on any of the ships rooms. You can even bring somebody along with you, and they'll enjoy the same discounted rate.
Also, hotels throw crazy discounts at travel professionals as well. This may be because they are hoping you tell your clients about their establishment. Ditto for car rental companies... even the big ones like Hertz and Enterprise. Discounts can range, although over 35% off is not uncommon.
When you do arrive at your destination, organized tour operators are also willing to hop on the "crazy discount" bandwagon. Just like with hotels and car rentals, discounts ranging from 20 to 40% are not unheard of.
You also may or may not have heard of something called a familiarization trip. This is, hands down, one of the best perks the travel agent can get. A familiarization trip (or FAM trip for short), are special trips aimed at "familiarizing" travel professionals to new offerings from hotels, cruise companies, tour operators and hotel chains.
Thanks

Re: Travel Agents
Hi
A travel agency may either be one of a chain of retail outlets or a single operation. The work of the larger agencies is often divided between different divisions, e.g. counter service, business travel and foreign exchange. In smaller concerns each member of the staff will have to handle many aspects of the agency's business. Some agencies limit their activities to arranging travel and/or holidays to a specific area, but most cater for a very much wider demand and fulfil all the functions associated with acting as intermediary between the providers of holidays, transport, accommodation etc., and the client. Companies that deal only with business travel are called Business Travel Houses. They may also be responsible for dealing with the planning, publicity and bookings for trade fairs and conferences. Travel agency sales clerks take bookings on behalf of tour operators, sell tickets for travel, make hotel bookings, take payments from the public and give advice, on types of holidays, methods of travel, passports, visas, travellers cheques, foreign currency etc., They need to have a good knowledge of the products and destinations offered by the tour operating and travel companies. Managers and assistant managers are responsible for the day-to-day operation of branch offices. This includes staffing, marketing, accountancy, complaints etc. Travel managers should have professional qualifications and experience. In a small agency training will probably be on-the-job. Large companies may offer a training programme.
Thanks

Online travel agents in India consult a variety of computer-based sources for information on departure and arrival times, hotel ratings and accommodations fares etc. Travel agencies also visit hotels, motels, resorts, and restaurants to evaluate their comfort, cleanliness, and the quality of food and service so that based on their experiences, they can recommend on their clients. Re: Travel Agents
Hello
If cross-country speed is your only concern, America's professional motorcoach operators admit you need to look elsewhere. But if you really want to SEE America; if you want to experience the excitement of its cities; feel the glory of its landscape; share the warmth of America's communities, it can't be done from 30,000 feet. You should be traveling by luxury motorcoach. If you'd rather visit with friends and fellow travelers, you can do it virtually any time you feel up to it. There's no better way to meet new acquaintances or to enjoy the company of old friends than the adventure of travel together. There is no more economical way to travel. Period. You'll be surprised to find that luxury doesn't come at a high price on today's motorcoach. In most cases, each traveler's share of the cost of a professional motorcoach will be far less than other modes of public transportation and even less than private autos. (By the way, have you ever tried to coordinate the movements of 20 separate cars for a single trip? Do you want that headache again.
Have a nice day !
