Post How to get to sleep at night in hot weather
The recent hot weather has left many people in the UK feeling that they have not had enough sleep at night.

Many have spent their precious slumber time tossing and turning in the sticky, sweaty heat, the Sun reports.

However, there are several things that can be done to get some sleep at night during a heatwave.

Sleep expert Dr Ian Smith told the news provider that we have difficulty getting to sleep when the weather is hot because the body does not cool down as it should in preparation for sleep.

He advises that people should keep curtains closed during the day, invest in a fan and to keep the window open at night so that air can circulate.

Along with having a cool shower before bed, Dr Smith is quoted as recommending: "You should avoid exercise after 6pm as it will raise your body temperature. Go to the gym in the morning rather than the evening."

Finally, he advises to stay out of the sun at the end of the day and to avoid alcohol.

The BBC on Monday (June 29th) warned that a heatwave could see temperatures in England and Wales reach 32C this week.
