Re: Hanging Porch Lanterns
Hello
Plants # Use real or silk plants to bring the feel of the outdoors to a screened porch. If the sun exposure is such that real plants will receive adequate light, hang them in baskets around the porch. Use silk plants if sun exposure is not ideal. The plants will provide a bit of privacy and enhance any decorating theme.
Furniture # Depending on the space, add seating that will accommodate additional people. If you want to eat meals on the porch, add a bistro set in one corner. A wicker love seat and a pair of rocking chairs would provide ample space for lounging. Make the area even more inviting with big floral cushions on the furniture, decorative pillows and cozy throws draped over the backs of the chairs. Place a coffee table in the center that doubles as storage for games. End tables can be placed at the corners and attractive table lamps used for lighting.
Wall Decor # At least one wall of a screened porch can be decorated. Carry the color scheme in the furniture fabrics up the walls. A garden theme lends itself well to the decor of a screened porch. Hang a rustic shelf to display country items. Place wooden hooks on the walls and hang candles, a garden sign or a straw hat on the hooks. Hang a large wooden welcome sign above the door entering the house. Find an attractive garden thermometer and hang it on the wall.
