Post What are the benefits of an IP Camera?
The largest benefit of IP cameras and network cameras, is that since they reside on IP networks (like the internet); the video streams can then be remotely accessed via web browser, which means you can access and control your IP camera from anywhere in the world (via the internet).

In addition to an increase in remote access and control, because the video streams are transported as digital data packets via an IP network, you can store these video streams at alternate locations and on Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices. Many also enjoy the ease of installation and the ability to leverage an existing networking infrastructure that comes with choosing IP cameras .

With an IP Camera, you avoid the need to run separate cabling, as you might with a CCTV system, plus many of the IP Cameras can be powered by Power Over Ethernet switches, which means there is no need to power them via AC power. This makes them great for those hard-to-reach places.
