Post Re: What is Link Popularity?
Hi

Link popularity is the total number of web sites that link to your site. Because good link popularity can dramatically increase traffic to your web site. Well placed links are an excellent source of consistent and targeted traffic. And due to recent developments, they can even generate additional search engine traffic to your site.

Most of the major search engines now factor Link Popularity into their relevancy algorithms. As a result, increasing the number of quality, relevant sites which link to your site can actually improve your search engine rankings. There is still no one "secret trick" to getting good rankings, but boosting your site's popularity may give it the edge it needs.

Thanks
Have a nice time ahead.

A measure of the quantity and quality of sites that link to your site.
Information

Link popularity is an example of the move by search engines towards off-the-page-criteria to determine quality content. Off-the-page-criteria adds the aspect of impartiality to search engine rankings, as citations from other authors in the Web community helps define a site's reputation. In theory, great sites will naturally attract many links, and content-poor sites will have difficulty attracting any links.

Link popularity assumes that not all inbound links are equal. For example, an inbound link from a major directory carries more weight than an inbound link from an obscure personal home page.

What is link popularity?

Link popularity is the total number of web sites that link to your site. An increasing number of search engines rank sites in part by the site's link popularity. However, the "popularity" is only part of the link analysis. The quality and context of links is also taken into account.

Search engines use link popularity because of the following thought: if many other web sites think that your site is worthy of being linked to, then your site must offer good content.

Eventually, all major search engines will use link popularity, so it's essential to observe and improve your link popularity. Our software tool tells you how "popular" search engines believe your site to be. You can also see how popular your competitor web sites are.

Hello Friends...

Link Popularity is the number of links to your site from other web sites. The Link Popularity analysis tool searches several search engines to determine how many pages are linked to your web page. The more links there are, the easier you are to be found and the more traffic you will get.

Thanks

Competitors Links: Before you start mailing to other websites, search for competitors links in Google, Yahoo or Bing. For example, your top 10 competitors has a total of 100 back links in Google, do nothing just collect those all links and approach them first, also don’t forget to approach the competitors for link exchange.Stop using Google, Yahoo or MSN for links: Once you collect a list of your competitors back links, you don’t need to search any search engine for searching links because from now onwards you have to follow the upcoming steps.Approach all the incoming and outgoing links of first response: After approaching the competitors and their links, I am sure you should have at least 1 reply in your mail box. Now, you need to stop the rest work and start with the 1 reply, means approach all the websites with whom the website you got the reply, has exchanged the links. This time I am sure you will get no. of replies and don’t forget to keep it continued as in accounting the method First in First out (FIFO) do.Don’t forget to ask for other websites: Very important thing to do is not to forget to ask for more websites for link exchange from the websites you get reply. This is very useful and very effective step which can help you arranging a lot links from just a place.

Have a great day
