Post Re: Validity and Expiry of Phone Cards
An easy and quick way is to use the “Select-a-Country” phone card finder on the top right of the Home page. Select the country you are calling and Ephonecards will display a list of phone cards with the best prices available for your specific circumstances. The components that determine the cost of a call are the country call rate (peak or off peak), connection or flag-fall fees, billing increments. A “connection fee”, is a fee charged by the telephone company for every call that 'connects'. As an example, Telstra’s connection fee for every STD or international call is 35c and they use 1 second billing increments.

Some phone cards charge a connection fee. This generally allows the phone card to provide a lower per minute rate. You should use these phone cards if you make lots of long calls (eg: Ring, OzCall, Happy Calling). Phone cards with no connection fee are better for short calls (DayBreak, Go Talk).

Certain phone cards have one fixed (24 hour) call rate others have peak and off-peak rates. The fixed rate means whatever time you call the rate is the same. Other phone cards charge more during peak hours (9am-6pm) and less during off-peak hours.
