Social Shopping
Social shopping is a process of e-commerce and of traditional shopping in which clients shop in an online social networking atmosphere s related to twitter and face book. Using the understanding of crowds, users communicate and total information about good quality of products, prices and deals.
A lot of sites permit users to make tradition shopping lists and share them with friends. Others focus on the user interactions attach information and recommendations that are hard to acquire from the actual sales personnel. Some services even permit users to shop together synchronously to complete the social environment to Social shopping sites can generate revenue not only from advertising and click throughs, but also by sharing information about their users with retailers.
Some services even allow users to shop online together to complement the social environment. Many social shopping sites allow to chatting and share a video and images. Almost visitor like to learn that what is popular products and deals. Visitor also gets a chance to meet follow the shoppers and makes friends.

I've written about various breeds of social shopping in the past, so I decided to give some thought into a categorization with examples. Below I've listed the different types of social shopping I've observed and some companies that support them.
Comments and Ratings -- Commenting on products has been around almost as long as e-commerce. Two popular players in this space are BazaarVoice and PowerReviews. Most shoppers prefer relying on peer reviews rather than retailer descriptions, so the influence over sales is very strong.
f-commerce -- A new term that was sure to rear its ugly head when retailers started allowing shopping on Facebook, And its all Elastic Path and Alvenda's fault!
Co-shopping -- Retailers like Wet Seal are enabling multiple people to shop together online. This is particularly applicable to fashion, where the real-time exchange of opinions is important. I actually tried this with a co-worker and its pretty cool.
Bragging -- Blippy is Twitter for shoppers, allowing purchases to be "tweeted" so you can keep up with your friends. I get alerted when friends download music or apps from iTunes because chances are I'll be interested as well. This covert influence is one-up'ed by Snatter, a service that gives people discounts for tweeting or posting promotions from retailers. This is the petri dish of viral marketing.

Social shopping attempts use technology to mimic the social interactions found in physical malls and stores. Social shopping can also exist in the real-world beyond the obvious swapping of consumer stories with people one knows. For example, when you walk into a dressing room, the mirror reflects your image, but you also see images of the apparel item and celebrities wearing it on an interactive display.The success of social shopping as a business model is still to be proven, although it is a common theme for many start up.

Using the wisdom of crowds, users communicate and aggregate information about products, prices, and deals. Many sites allow users to create custom shopping lists and share them with friends. To date, fashion communities such as Kaboodle, Stylefeeder, and Polyvore have largely dominated this space. Yet, shopping communities are not limited exclusively to fashion. Other shopping communities include Listia, an online community for free stuff and Shiny Orb, an online wedding apparel community. Activity-based clubs (such as travel or adventure-sports clubs) are the in-person analogy for this category of social shopping.
