Online Conversion Rates
The conversion rate and ROI depends on literally hundreds of factors, You could convert hundreds of people a day and make nothing because you haven't calculated the costs of processing hundreds of orders, along with the costs of hosting and your time working on it, but you could make good money just converting 2 or 3 people with a high price product. At the end of the day how many people you convert doesn't really matter as long as you are making a suitable ROI and you are happy then be it 0.1% or 10% converted it isn't much difference.

Re: Online Conversion Rates
To understand the impact of required registration on conversion rates, Forrester asked US online shoppers what they did last time they were required to register before making a purchase online. The survey revealed that almost one-quarter leave the site without registering or purchasing, taking millions of dollars in potential revenue with them. What can companies do to encourage registration? Make it optional, and clearly explain the benefits customers will get if they do sign up. The right incentives can also be helpful — online shoppers are most likely to hand over personal data in exchange for discounts.

Re: Online Conversion Rates
Hi
Does your website have an actual contact form? There are a lot of websites that have just a mailto web link for users to contact the company. The problem with this is that you are reliant on the user having their own mail client installed and you cannot specify what information you want to collect. If you have a proper contact form on your contact us page you can specify what information you want to collect e.g. name, phone number, email address, website etc.
Thanks
