What is an Airline E-ticket?
Hello
A traveler's worst nightmare used to be losing a paper ticket. Whether for a bus, train or airplane, losing the tickets was a major inconvenience. As technology has advanced, and more and more travelers are booking their own flights online, the e-ticket has become the ticket of choice with airlines.
An e-ticket is an electronic airline ticket, or electronic reservation. A traveler with an e-ticket is not issued a traditional paper ticket. Instead, he prints out his reservation information, and often his boarding pass, from e-mail before heading to the airport. The reservation is in the airline's computer system.
Thanks

Re: What is an Airline E-ticket?
Hi An electronic ticket or e-ticket is used to represent the purchase of a seat on a passenger airline, usually through a website or by telephone although purchase through airline ticket offices or travel agencies can also get you an e-ticket. This form of airline ticket has rapidly replaced the old multi-layered paper tickets (from close to zero to 100% in about 10 years) and became mandatory for IATA members as of June 1, 2008. During the last few years, where paper tickets were still available, airlines frequently charged extra for issuing them. E-tickets are also available for certain entertainment venues.
Thanks
