Causes of split personality
Hello
It's called Dissociative Identity Disorder. It is caused by very severe abuse (phsycial and sexual) and trauma as a child. They believe this causes them to split their personality up into different alters to try to protect themselves or deal with the situation - i.e. different or dangerous feelings are safely contained in the other alters. The primary alter does not have to deal with it any more. There appears to need to be a genetic predisposition towards it. Multiple personality disorder, or dissociative personality disorder, is a syndrome marked by the apparent existence of two or more personalities in a single person. Multiple personality disorder generally shows up in conjunction with a spectrum of other disorders such as post traumatic stress disorder, suicidal behavior, and eating disorders, and is therefore more difficult than one might anticipate to diagnose.
Have a nice day !

Re: Causes of split personality
Hi
This problem is also know as multiple personality disorder or dissociate identity disorder. This is a physchotic type of disorder that some people have and basically what happens is that they actually begin to act as if they have other personalities. Usually they end up having various experiences that lead to them being dissociated into more than one personality and often the personalities that they are experiencing control the way that they are acting.
The CausesWhen it comes to the disorder of dealing with a split personality, you'll find that there are a variety of different things that can cause it. Some of the causes of this problem can include repeated problems with very traumatic situations, no support when dealing with stress, social environment, abuse during childhood, difficulty with brain function, and more. Also, in cases when people deal with a lot of mental stress as well as pressure, they can become more vulnerable to this problem.
Thanks

Quick ChangesThose patients who deal with split personality problems, or multiple personality disorder, can quickly go through a change of personality in only a couple short seconds. They quickly become someone totally different and they use the characteristics, name, behaviors, and even the history of another person that they think they are. Often they can change gender, age, nationality, or even their sexual orientation when they switch personalities. Usually people dealing with split personalities can have from 2-10 different personalities, but some can have even more.
SymptomsThere are a variety of different symptoms to watch out for when it comes to problems with split personality. Often people with this problem lose a large chunk of memory and do not remember things that happened to them at certain periods of time, such as their childhood. Also, they may feel that they are having an out of body experience when they are going through this and as if they have no control at all over what is happening.
Thanks
