Re: What Are the Benefits of Setting Goals?
Creating powerful goals can be the difference between having 'an o.k. life' or a life that you absolutely love, and the difference between 'getting by' or creating true wealth and happiness in your life.
The Top 6 Benefits of Setting Goals are:
1. CLARITY:
You will have more CLARITY: You have to know where you want to go to get there. Setting goals requires you to develop clarity. This is the first and most important step to creating a life that you love and want.
2. FOCUS:
You will develop a stronger FOCUS: Whatever you focus on your get more of: if you have clear goals and focus on them, you will get more of what you DO want (your goals) and less of what you don't want.
3. EFFICIENCY:
When you get clear about where you want to go, you set up steps and actions to get there. This increases your efficiency because you are working on what is really important. When you work on what's important, you will accomplish more than you ever expected.
4. DREAMS
You will get what you really want in life, rather than settling for 'whatever comes you way'.
5. INCREASED SELF-CONFIDENCE
As you set and reach goals, you become more confident in your ability to do what you say and get what you want in life. Success breeds more successes.
And the number 1 benefit of setting goals is...
6. R-E-S-U-L-T-S
Only 3% of people in the U.S. have written goals, and according to research, these people accomplish 80% more than those who don't. That's an astounding difference, isn't it?

Re: What Are the Benefits of Setting Goals?
1)Focus:If you have a goal it gives you focus something to aim for, a target or dream to work to. 2)Motivation:Achieving or making progress towards a goal can be hugely motivating. Imagine for example you want to improve your fitness. When you start you can only exercise on the treadmill for a short period of time at a relatively slow speed. Pretty quickly you can comfortably run for 15 minutes at a reasonable speed. It's a great feeling when you reach and then pass a previous best. 4)Success:If you set yourself a goal you are more likely to succeed. Once you set an idea in your mind that you are going to do something, there is likely to be a much greater chance of success. Why? The reason is that you will go the extra mile to achieve it. 5)Confidence:If you start setting and achieving goals your confidence will rise. I use myself as an example. I left school at 16 with basic qualifications. I started an Accountancy Diploma at night school. Each time I passed a set of exams it gave me the confidence to tackle the next level. Eventually I qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant. 6)Growth:Every time we set a goal we grow as a person. The reason for this is that we are probably going to have to develop or learn about something to achieve it. Setting up my web-site is a good example.
