Post External Deterrent Monitoring
External Detection devices will detect the activity of intruders. In the event of an alarm device being activated a number of events take place:-

The tungsten halogen floodlighting is automatically switched on.

A verbal warning system is activated to drive away the intruders. If they persist in entering further onto the premises a full alarm condition is generated with the siren creating 110 decibels of sound and the strobe light flashing.

When the system has reached "full alarm status" an alarm signal is sent via the signalling device to the Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC).

Upon receipt of the alarm signal the ARC operator will follow an agreed response plan and contact Key-holders accordingly.

Post Re: External Deterrent Monitoring
The Alert systems external deterrent system is designed specifically to cope with the different problems met once we get outside a controlled environment; it’s no good using an Intruder Panel which goes off immediately a device is triggered as it would soon be totally ignored and does not give any external protection. The brain of the system filters ‘false alarms’ which may be triggered by wildlife or a member of staff returning to the premises or perhaps a night delivery.

When a device is triggered the first response from the external security is that it will activate halogen lights, if there are no more activations within a given time log, the system will automatically reset. This means the area that was in darkness at night is illuminated immediately and an internal sounder starts sounding inside the premises giving the intruder an indication that the company has external protection.

If an intruder persists the lights stay on and a verbal warning is sent out over the loud speakers. When the intruder leaves the system again shuts down automatically. 95% of all intruders will vacate the premises at this point.

When you have an intruder who ignores the lights and the verbal warning and they are intent on gaining either entrance to the premises or stealing something from the stock or vehicles parked on the premises and they ignore the Alertsystems warning signs that the company has external protection, the third stage means that the siren sounds and the lights flash bringing the intruder to the attention of anyone who is close to the premises.

Post Re: External Deterrent Monitoring
In 1986 Alertsystems perceived a need for a system offering external protection bearing in mind how many companies keep items of value outside e.g. haulage companies, coach companies, plant and agricultural equipment, garden centres, distribution companies, garages, builders merchants, steel stockholders; all requiring external security.

The Alertsystems external deterrent system is designed specifically to cope with the different problems met once we get outside a controlled environment; it’s no good using an Intruder Panel which goes off immediately a device is triggered as it would soon be totally ignored.

The brain of the system filters ‘false alarms’ which may be triggered by wildlife or a member of staff returning to the premises or perhaps a night delivery. The External Deterrent System has been proven to work in over 5,000 installations nationwide.
