Choosing The Perfect Chalets For Families
If you’re looking for chalet holidays to go on with children, there are a few points to consider.
Location is especially important when skiing with youngsters, so be aware of how near the slopes are, and how you will travel to the lifts. Young children can’t always manage long distances over slippery surfaces very easily, and you may not want to carry their skis and poles as well as your own! If distances are longer, look for an operator providing a transfer service.
You also need to think about how you are going to spend your time when you are not skiing, so check out what facilities such as swimming, skating or tobogganing may be on offer nearby.
The other decision to make with family skiing and chalet holidays is how each day will be spent, and how much time you will spend skiing together. Will you be putting the children in ski school or some form of childcare? You may want to compromise and spend some time skiing together and go off on your own at others. One option, for example, is to ski as a family half the day (ideally mornings when everyone’s fresh), then use childcare in the afternoon.
At the Chalet Experience, our chalet holidays are very family-friendly, with chalets in French resorts which are either just metres from the ski runs or a courtesy vehicle is provided.
See our website to find out more about why our chalets suit families so well.
