Why Is Travel Insurance Important?
Travel insurance is important because it protects travelers when unforeseen circumstances occur after they've booked and paid for their trip. The insurance helps travelers if they have to cancel their vacation plans because of personal situations or errors on the part of travel agencies and airlines. This insurance also safeguards travelers if emergencies arise once they reach their destination. Travel agencies and companies that specialize in travel insurance, such as Travel Guard, provide different policies for travelers.
Lost Medication 1. People whose baggage containing their medication is lost or stolen can fill emergency prescriptions because of travel insurance. Identification and Cash 2. Travel insurance is important if people's passports and wallets are lost or stolen. The insurance helps travelers replace lost identification and get emergency cash. Medical Emergencies 3. Travel insurance covers medical emergencies, accidents and treatments that may occur on a trip to a foreign country. Acts of Nature and Terrorism 4. Travel insurance covers money people loss if they have to evacuate their vacation location due to severe weather like hurricanes, typhoons or tsunamis. If travelers wish to cancel their trip because a terrorist attach occurred at the travel destination, travel insurance gives them a refund. Bankruptcy 5. People with travel insurance will not lose money if cruise lines, airlines or tour operations file for bankruptcy. The insurance covers non-refundable expenses. Flight Cancellation 6. If the airline cancels a traveler's flight, travel insurance refunds the cost of the plane tickets. Personal Circumstances 7. Travel insurance refunds trips that have been canceled because of personal circumstances, such as illness.

Is Travel Insurance Important?
Overseas travel can be an enriching and unforgettable experience. However, without proper travel insurance, a dream holiday could lead to financial ruin or even worse.
Luckily, arranging travel insurance doesn’t have to break the bank or take large amounts of your valuable time, getting a cheap Budget Direct Travel Insurance quote on-line takes less than 1 minute.
Some go overseas without ever having considered obtaining travel insurance, but the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade strongly advises that all Australians take out travel insurance before going overseas, and with good reason.
Each year the department handles over 20,000 cases involving Australians in difficulty overseas. This includes over 700 hospitalisations and 100 evacuations of Australians to another location for medical purposes.
These cases can be extremely expensive, with hospitalisation costs in Southeast Asia regularly exceeding $800 per day and medical evacuations from the United States often costing as much as $95,000.
Sadly, the department has to deal with instances where families have to sell the family home to bring loved ones home for treatment.
Consider the example of one young Australian holidaying in the US.
He permitted his 12-month travel insurance policy to expire just a few days before his departure for home. In the simple act of crossing a road, he was hit by a car and suffered head injuries.
He was admitted unconscious to intensive care and required highly intensive sophisticated care until he was able to be flown back to Australia.
The cost to the family for the medical evacuation alone was $80,000. They had to take out a second mortgage on their house to raise the funds.
For the peace of mind of knowing that should misfortune befall you while you’re overseas your travel insurance will make sure you’re well looked after. Get a one minute, cheap Budget Direct Travel Insurance quote on-line.

Re: Why Is Travel Insurance Important?
Hi
So you think you don't need travel health insurance? Most people regard travel health insurance as an added expense or a luxury but in fact it is the most important purchase of your whole vacation, especially when travelling with children. No one ever plans a trip with the idea of cancelling it, or returning home early, but keep in mind that illnesses, accidents or emergencies can happen unexpectedly. What if your family is at the beach enjoying your Caribbean vacation and your child cuts his foot open on a rock or you suddenly have an appendicitis attack? You can be left in distress or financially devastated not choosing to spend a few extra dollars to protect yourself with travel health insurance.
Thanks for all friends

Re: Why Is Travel Insurance Important?
Hi
Thanks for good tips........... While you may consider yourself to be in good health there are always unexpected accidents waiting to happen. It's much better to be safe than sorry. Travel insurance can also cover loss of luggage or other personal belongings such as passports and money, repatriation costs and cancelled or delayed flights. Also, damage that you may cause to third parties is also covered in many cases. With all these potential expenses, it's easy to see why a comprehensive travel insurance policy is highly recommended.
Thanks
