If you’re looking into ski holidays for next season, you may be wondering how a typical day pans out on chalet holidays, especially if you’ve never stayed in chalets before.

The day starts with a hearty breakfast to fuel you during your morning on the slopes. You may well have morning ski classes, but as most ski chalets are near the slopes, there’s no need to rush or bolt your breakfast. You’re on holiday, after all!

With most chalet holidays, you organise your lunch yourself, but you’ll want to be out skiing and stop when you feel like it, and there are invariably plenty of cafes around.

You’ll probably want to ski some more in the afternoon, perhaps independently, rather than in a class.

Evenings are very convivial on chalet holidays. You’ll probably get back around 5pm or so, and be able to unwind with afternoon tea and cake, perhaps sit and admire the view for a while or have a hot bath or shower. Then you can look forward to the evening meal, with perhaps a few drinks and a DVD or a game as you recall the highlights of your day on the piste and look forward to the next one.
