Why travel insurance?
Why travel insurance?
Consider this: You are faced with a medical emergency in a foreign land with no one for help and limited cash — an ideal recipe for a disastrous holiday. Add to this, the fact that the cost of medical treatment in the US and European countries is very steep and you know why travel insurance needs to be a critical part of your travel plans.
If you have such a policy, you effectively transfer the headache of zeroing in on a hospital and paying the bills to a third party — the insurance company. General insurers offer cashless service for hospitalisation, which means that you can avail of services abroad though you would have incurred the costs (i.e. premium) in rupees.
If you happen to visit a doctor during your stay abroad for consultation, the amount will be reimbursed to you on the submission of the bill. Apart from medical risks, insurance companies also cover certain other emergencies such as accidents, loss of passport, delay or loss of baggage, missed flights, trip delay or cancellation, missed flights, financial emergencies, home insurance and even hijacking.

Re: Why travel insurance?
Hi
When planning a trip abroad, travel insurance is often viewed as a secondary consideration, and the process of booking flights and hotels is often at the forefront of peoples minds. Some people do not even take out travel insurance. Not getting a policy prior to travelling is a big mistake, as you will be missing out on the many benefits and essential protections that it provides.
Perhaps the biggest factor of all is medical insurance. Whilst abroad, you are not covered for medical bills without insurance. Should you get sick or suffer an accident, you are likely to be liable for the full medical bill. This could quite easily run into thousands of dollars. The fact that you are on holiday in a foreign country increases your chances of getting sick or having an accident. Not only are you unfamiliar with your local surroundings, but you are eating foreign food, and your body is exposed to unfamiliar viruses and bacteria.
Thanks

Re: Why travel insurance?
Travel insurance delivers a level of financial and medical security to a person traveling. Varying traveling natures can all be secure under this kind of insurance policy. It is very rare for insurance policies to be attained separately from when people book their trips as it is much easier and efficient to manage the two things together.
Availing of travel insurance from the main insurance brokers are meant for trips which may take very long periods of time as these policies are normally more extensive in terms of coverage. Because of this, one can see how it is always wiser to deal with a legitimate insurance company rather than go through other agencies like travel providers. The reason behind this is that travel insurance policies that come from the actual insurance agents tend to have more inclusions when it comes to coverage than the limited options one has for when the policies are granted by travel agencies.

Re: Why travel insurance?
Travel Insurance is insurance that is intended to cover medical expenses and financial (such as money invested in nonrefundable pre-payments) and other losses incurred while traveling, either within one's own country, or internationally.
Temporary travel insurance can usually be arranged at the time of the booking of a trip to cover exactly the duration of that trip, or a more extensive, continuous insurance can be purchased from travel insurance companies, travel agents or directly from travel suppliers such as cruiselines or tour operators.
However, travel insurance purchased from travel suppliers tends to be less inclusive than insurance offered by insurance companies. Travel insurance often offers coverage for a variety of travelers. Student travel, business travel, leisure travel, adventure travel, cruise travel, and international travel are all various options that can be insured.

Re: Why travel insurance?
Hi
The common type of travel insurance is for medical emergencies. This type of coverage is particularly useful if you plan on traveling to underdeveloped countries, or for individuals with a chronic illness that might require medical attention at some point during the trip. These policies will reimburse you for the cost of doctor visits, medication, and sometimes even medical evacuation out of the country. It's best to check with your insurance provider regarding the details, as travel health coverage policies vary widely.
It is also possible to obtain travel insurance that will cover non-refundable tickets in the event that a trip has to be cancelled for any number of reasons. Some coverage plans will sometimes cover missed connections as well, which can be a lifesaver in the event of a flight delay or over-crowded and/or confusing airport terminal.
Thanks

Hi When families travel, there is always the risk that a sudden injury or illness to an an adult will leave minor children without an attendant. In this case one of the family travel benefits, Escort for Minor can pay for the economy transport costs to return unattended children home, with an escort if necessary.
When you are traveling alone and you become very seriously injured or ill, another family travel benefit, Bedside Visit, can help to bring a family member or friend to your hospital bedside.
The Emergency Reunion benefit provides reimbursement for travel and lodging expenses when the physician recommends that the Insured have a family member at their side during a medical transport.

Hi
The basic meaning of travel insuranceis to protect your trip investment. To define it in simply, travel insurance refers to financial protection for a person and the money that a person prepays for his trip. It covers personal accident, medical expenses, air ambulance, loss of effects, repatriation costs and all other expenses that may arise as a result of loss, damage, injury, delay or inconvenience occurring to the person who is traveling.

Re: Why travel insurance?
Hi
ravel insurance doesn't just protect the trip, either. You should also consider covering travelers in case of emergency while away from home. Should a medical emergency or injury occur, coverage for things such as medical treatment and expenses is vital. You could end up spending thousands of dollars for treatment in a foreign country!
You may also want to prepare for the worst, and opt for medical transportation or evacuation coverage, which will help you get home when you need it most. If you opt for this type of coverage, double check the policy to see if it covers emergency transportation for your travel companions, as well. Certainly, you don't want your friends or family stuck without a way to end their trip early and accompany you home.
Thanks
