Re: Tips to Stay Healthy on a Winter Trip
During the winter months, most areas of the United States and many areas around the world do not get as much light and readily available nutrient-laden fresh vegetables and fruits. For this reason, it is crucial that people take a good, high-quality multi-vitamin every day to provide needed vitamins and minerals to the body.
How do you know if your multi-vitamin is a good one or not? Take this test: drop one vitamin in a small cup of white vinegar. If it dissolves in about 20 minutes, it is a good vitamin but if it dissolves much before or after 20 minutes, it is not.
This is because vinegar mimics the stomach's acidity and it takes food about 20 minutes to get past the stomach and into the intestine where it will be absorbed into the body, so if the vitamin dissolves too fast or too slow it either is not getting to the intestine or it never breaks down at all.
