Homeopathic Remedies: How Are They Made?
The Society of Homeopaths defines homeopathy as “a system of medicine which is based on treating the individual with highly diluted substances given in mainly tablet form, which triggers the body’s natural system of healing. Based on their experience of their symptoms, a homeopath will match the most appropriate medicine to the patient.” Homeopathy operates on the principle of “like cures like”. What does that mean? Simply, the substance that would cause specific symptoms in someone with good health is used to cure those same, specific symptoms in someone with poor health. Okay—so how are these remedies actually made? All of the ingredients that go into homeopathic remedies can be found in nature—plant, mineral and animal extracts are the base of the remedies; they are diluted to avoid unpleasant side affects. Believe it or not, the more a remedy is diluted, the more effective it tends to be. There is a very specific method for making homeopathic remedies. Typically, creating a remedy follows these steps: 1. The extract is dissolved in a mixture of distilled water and alcohol (typically 90% alcohol and 10% water). 2. The mixture is set aside for two to four weeks. Occasionally, it is shaken. 3. Once the remedy has cured, it is press-strained. The result of this is what is called a “mother tincture.” 4. The mother tincture is then diluted to produce a variety of remedy potencies. More extreme conditions typically call for more potent homeopathic remedies. 5. One drop of the mother tincture is placed into a vial along with nine drops of a diluting substance (an alcohol/water solution). The mixture is shaken violently with impact. Now that you know how homeopathic remedies are made, it’s about time that you try one out…don’t you think? This is a guest post written by Katrina Robinson who writes for Global Healing Center.com.

Re: Homeopathic Remedies: How Are They Made?
Homeopathic is very effective. Homeopathic Remedies follow the principle of "similae". This is the principle that certain substances like herbs, minerals, inorganic salts and other organic materials, etc. in their natural state cause the same symptoms as a known disease, The original substance from which the remedy is to be made must be collected or otherwise prepared in the way that is as near as possible to the way it was done when preparing the material for proving.
