Post AILMENTS OF THE FEET
Ingrown toenails
An ingrown toenail occurs most frequently in the big toe. As the nail grows deeper into the flesh the toe becomes red, shiny and swollen with a throbbing pain. Don’t clip your nails down too far and cut them evenly across.

Athletes foot
Infection starts between the little toe and the one next to it. At first the skin is itchy and sore. Then it starts to crack and peel and can spread. Don’t wear shoes without socks or tights and wear footwear which allows your feet to breath.

Fungal nails
Symptoms of a fungal infection may include brittleness, discoloration, thickening and crumbling of the nail. Tip: apply Nail-Rx to infected toenails morning and night.

Corns/calluses
Corns occurring on top and sides of toes are usually due to pressure from shoes. Calluses form on the soles of the feet, especially around the heels. Regular use of a pumice may help. Treatments for corns and callous are reusable gel pads and adhesive paddings. Tip: apply papaya juice or milky juice from green figs to affected area.

Bunions
A bunion is characterized by a bump that is red, swollen and painful on the inside of the foot around the big toe joint. The primary cause is ill-fitting shoes. Treatments for bunions are to use anti-inflammatory medications such as aspirin and Ibuprofen gel/tablets. Cold ice-pack compresses can be useful in reducing swelling. To reduce the pressure use reusable gel pads and adhesive paddings.

Dry, cracked skin and heel fissures
Dry skin can lead to the problem of cracking and fissuring of the skin round the edge of the heels. A soft density gel heel protector pad reduces heel stress. Tip: use Nourish Healing Foot Cream daily.

Not all feet are created equal! Some feet seem to take much abuse without complaining, many are not so lucky. Some people have sore feet in spite of wearing comfortable shoes and only moderate levels of activity. Ill fitting or improper shoes may cause foot discomfort. However, the foot itself may be the problem. The human foot contains about 26 bones and numerous joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons. It is a complex structure that isn't always ideally suited to weight bearing and ambulation. We all have unique feet, and place unique demands upon them. The average person takes about 5000 steps a day, and walks 50,000 miles in a lifetime! Our lifestyle, what shoes we wear and how active we are, clearly affect our risk of foot problems. The young foot is more resilient, and may easily recover from minor injuries. Wear and tear eventually take their toll, and tissues lose their ability to fully recover. Hence, foot complaints become more prevalent as we age.

All feet are different, but most fall into three basic types:

* "Normal" (Rectus) Foot- Structure and alignment of the foot are well configured for the demands of daily living. Excessive wear, exceptional demands or improper shoes can make this foot injured or painful.
* High Arched (Supinated) Foot - This type of foot is poor at absorbing shock. These people are prone to problems of the entire lower extremity and back. Such feet often develop severely clawed toes and extensive plantar calluses.
* Flat (Pronated) Feet - This is one of the more common problems treated by the podiatrist. These people are prone to develop tired feet, arch strain, arthritis, and various structural deformities.

Hyperhidrosis sufferers have to cope with excessive sweat problems whether they are hot or cold, exercising or resting. If you suffer from excessive sweat problems, I am sure that you will have tried dozens of Antiperpsirants, trying to reduce the armpit sweat, dozens of Deodorants, trying to reduce the body odour.

Perhaps you have tried Miracle Stop Sweat Problem Cures, Herbalism, Homeopathy, Acupunc ture, Hypnosis. If you are considering Botulinum Injections or Surgery, try Sweat Guard products first - you can beat Hyperhidrosis without Injections and without Surgery.

"Primary Hyperhidrosis", also known as "Focal Hyperhidrosis" appears without a known cause and is more common than "Secondary Hyperhidrosis". It usually starts at childhood and persists throughout life. Whilst nervousness and anxiety can elicit or aggravate excessive sweating, psychological disturbances are not always the reason.

As the name suggests, "Secondary Hyperhidrosis", is secondary to another condition which is causing the excessive sweating. Conditions that cause Secondary Hyperhidrosis include Cancer, Diabetes, Gout, Glucose Control Disorders, Hyperthyroidism, Menopause, Mercury Poisoning and Pituitary Disorders. Drugs can also cause Secondary Hyperhidrosis.

Post Re: AILMENTS OF THE FEET
There are several factors that can contribute to painful foot ailments. Nearly all causes of foot ailments can be categorized under one or more of the following conditions.

Here are some major causes of foot ailments:

Ill-fitting shoes, as well as poorly structured shoes, can contribute to the development of foot ailments.
High-heeled shoes can cause a particular type of foot ailment for women who wear them, as they concentrate all weight and pressure on the toes.
Some types of clogs and sandals also provide little support, and can contribute to the pain of many foot ailments.
Systemic medical conditions and poor circulation can contribute to the causes of foot ailments.
Strenuous exercising can cause overuse injuries, which can injure the feet, and are yet another contributor to the causes of painful foot ailments.
A flat foot is one of the most common causes of foot ailments. As the arch starts to collapse, the band of ligament and the muscle in the bottom of the foot absorbs the impact of pressure from standing or walking. Eventually, it stretches beyond its limits, leading to possible muscle tears and bone spurs.
Inflammation (swelling, increased temperature, loss of function and foot pain) caused by infection, tumors, arthritis or trauma can be a cause of foot ailments.
Structural deformities, whether congenital or progressive in type, such as hammertoes and bunions, contribute to the pain of many foot ailments.
