Re: Tips for healthy teeth
Kids can take charge of their teeth by taking these steps:
* Brush at least twice a day - after breakfast and before bedtime. If you can, brush after lunch or after sweet snacks. Brushing properly breaks down plaque. * Brush all of your teeth, not just the front ones. Spend some time on the teeth along the sides and in the back. Brush away from your gums. * Take your time while brushing. Spend at least 3 minutes each time you brush. If you have trouble keeping track of the time, use a timer or play a recording of a song you like to help pass the time. * Be sure your toothbrush has soft bristles (the package will tell you if they're soft). Ask your parent to help you get a new toothbrush every 3 months. Some toothbrushes come with bristles that change color when it's time to change them. * Learn how to floss your teeth, which is a very important way to keep them healthy. It feels weird the first few times you do it, but pretty soon you'll be a pro. Slip the dental floss between each tooth and up along the gum line. The floss gets rid of food that's hidden where your toothbrush can't get it, no matter how well you brush.
It's also important to visit the dentist twice a year. Besides checking for signs of cavities or gum disease, the dentist will help keep your teeth extra clean, and he or she can help you learn the best way to brush and floss.
It's not just brushing and flossing that keep your teeth healthy - you also need to be careful about what you eat and drink. Remember, the plaque on your teeth is just waiting for that sugar to arrive. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables and drink water instead of soda. And don't forget to smile!

Re: Tips for healthy teeth
Some of these tips also relate to general health. So once you start following them, you will find difference in overall health apart from stronger teeth.
1. Drink lots of water. At least 2 liters are recommended unless you have any medical constraints. 2. Avoid chilled water. Water at near body temperature is best. 3. Do not consume frozen food or cold fluids immediately after hot food. 4. Do not swallow food. Chew it until is becomes a paste. 5. Do not gulp water or other fluids. Rinse each sip gradually in mouth and then slowly sip in. 6. Take your time while brushing. Spend at least 3 minutes each time you brush. If you have trouble keeping track of the time, use a timer or play a recording of a song you like to help pass the time. 7. Be sure your toothbrush has soft bristles (the package will tell you if they're soft). Ask your parent to help you get a new toothbrush every 3 months. Some toothbrushes come with bristles that change color when it's time to change them.

1. Brush your teeth twice daily with fluoride toothpaste and clean between your teeth daily with floss or an interdental cleaner. This takes just a few minutes a day. Use a correct toothbrush, and brush and floss correctly. 2. Eat a balanced diet for good overall health, selecting a variety of foods from the five main food groups (bread, cereals, and other grain products; fruits; vegetables; meat, poultry, fish and alternatives; milk, cheese, and yogurt), and limit snacks. 3. See your dentist regularly for a dental examination and professional cleaning - a key to helping prevent tooth decay and gum disease. 4. If you experience the following, then you have chances of a periodontal disease: Gums bleeding during brushing Red and/or swollen gums Gums that have pulled away from the teeth, Pus between the teeth and gums Bad breath Loose teeth 5. Ask your dentist about cosmetic options for improving the appearance of teeth that are stained or chipped. 6. Don't use tobacco products; they can increase your risk of gum disease and cancer of the mouth and throat. 7. Don't chew on hard objects that could crack a tooth. 8. Don't ignore gums that bleed when you brush or floss or changes in the way your teeth fit together when you bite. 9. Wear a mouth guard when playing active sports.

1. Clean your teeth after eating by toothbrush and dental floss. Use a correct toothbrush, and brush and floss correctly. 2. Visit the dentist regularly. Periodontal disease of gums is common in adults and in older people. The dentist can remove plaque from teeth, reducing the number of bacteria - a key to helping prevent tooth decay and gum disease. 3. Re: Tips for healthy teeth
HOME REMEDIES FOR WHITINING OF TEETH The 2 basic types of whitening kits come in the form of strips or bleaching trays. Bleaching trays are usually given to the patient by a whitening specialist at a clinic, or you can pick them up at a department store. The bleaching trays can be quite expensive and bulky, and are usually worn for several hours during the day or even overnight. Teeth whitening strips can be had for less than $50, and contain some type of peroxide bleaching ingredient. The strips adhere to your teeth like bandaids, and can be worn all day without anybody noticing. The strips are also quite comfortable and unless you are eating a meal, you hardly notice them.
